Gemini unable to make revisions to canvas

When I chat with Gemini and ask it to make revisions to a canvas that it created using the create canvas tool, most of the time it tries to make revisions to the Google sheet not the canvas, and then when it tries to revise the canvas it doesn't fix anything that I asked it to, though it seems to be generating new code...
