Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Inputly (“Inputly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and website (together, the “Service”). Inputly is a public feedback platform where people share feature requests and report issues for the products they use, and vote on and discuss the feedback of others.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address. You can sign up using a one-time email code, or through Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. If you use a third-party sign-in, we receive a basic identifier and the email address associated with that account (for Apple, you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive a private relay address).

Profile information

Your public profile includes a username/handle, an optional display name, and an optional profile picture (avatar). This information is visible to other users.

Content you create

We store the content you submit, including inputs (ideas and issues), comments and replies, votes, follows, saves and favorites, the products and brands you create or tag, and any reports you file. Most of this content is public by design and associated with your profile, unless you choose an available option to post without showing your identity.

Usage and activity

To operate and improve the Service (for example, to rank trending feedback and power recommendations), we log certain in-app activity such as views, searches, votes, comments, follows, saves, and content creation, along with related identifiers and timestamps.

Device and push information

If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token and your device platform (iOS or Android) so we can deliver notifications. We also process standard technical data (such as IP address and device/browser information) that is necessary to provide and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Service, including authenticating you and displaying your content.
  • Rank and surface trending feedback, power search, and suggest relevant products and inputs.
  • Send you notifications you have opted into (for example, replies, comments, and new followers).
  • Moderate content and enforce our rules to keep the community safe (see Section 4).
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
  • Communicate with you about your account and respond to your requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to run the Service. These include:

  • Supabase — our database, authentication, file storage, and backend infrastructure provider.
  • Expo (Expo Application Services) — delivery of push notifications.
  • OpenAI — automated content moderation and generating text embeddings used for similarity/search features. Content you submit may be sent to this provider for these purposes.
  • Google and Apple — when you choose to sign in with those providers.
  • The Apple App Store and Google Play — distribution of our mobile app.

These providers may process your information only on our behalf and are bound by obligations to protect it.

Public content

Content you post publicly (such as inputs, comments, votes, and your profile) is visible to other users and to visitors of our website, and may appear in search engines.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Inputly, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

If Inputly is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership.

4. Automated moderation

To keep the community safe, content submitted to the Service (such as inputs, comments, and profile details) may be analyzed automatically, including by third-party AI services, to detect content that violates our rules — for example, hate speech, harassment, or other prohibited material. This may result in content being blocked, hidden, or flagged for review.

5. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements. Note that content you shared publicly may persist in aggregated, anonymized, or cached forms.

6. Your rights and choices

  • Access and update: You can view and edit your profile information from within the app.
  • Delete your account: You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data; contact us at the email below if you need help.
  • Notifications: You can turn push notifications on or off from your device settings at any time.
  • Blocking: You can block other accounts to limit interactions and hide their content from you.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@inputly.co.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International users

We may process and store your information in countries other than the one in which you live. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than those in your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
